New England Summer Couples Photoshoot at Southport Beach in Fairfield County, Connecticut

Photographing fellow wedding and portrait photographers is always a treat and such an honor. I first met Melina at Providence College in the training room as injured student-athletes. As we rehabbed our injuries together as mere acquaintances, little did we know that our paths would randomly cross again as we would both end up becoming film and digital photographers living in Connecticut.

When I first moved back to the East Coast for my husband’s new job with the Yale men’s hockey team, I knew I would need to offer a few complimentary photo sessions to help grow my portfolio and clientele. Making initial connections in and around New Haven, CT was a bit tough as most of my east coast friends live in Boston, New York City, and Providence. Lucky for me, my husband’s new boss’s daughter who is also a former Providence College athlete, reconnected Melina and I. To my surprise Melina also became a portrait photographer, and so did her husband – Nick. Thus, one of my favorite couples photo sessions was born on the quiet Southport Beach.
